Green Denim for A Sustainable Future
Tumblr media
In recent years, sustainability has emerged as a pressing issue across a wide range of industries, and the fashion industry is no exception. As consumers become increasingly aware of the environmental consequences of their choices, there has been a significant surge in the demand for eco-friendly and sustainable clothing options. One particular sector within the fashion industry that has experienced a notable transformation is denim production. With the emergence of green denim, individuals with a passion for fashion can now fully embrace sustainable practices without sacrificing their personal style.
The traditional methods of denim production have long been associated with substantial environmental impact. The excessive water consumption, chemical pollution, and high carbon footprint of conventional denim manufacturing have raised serious concerns among environmentally conscious consumers. However, the rise of green denim has brought about a positive change, offering a promising solution for those seeking sustainable fashion choices.
The increasing popularity of green denim can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, consumers are now more informed and aware of the detrimental effects of traditional denim production on the environment. They are actively seeking alternatives that align with their values and desire for sustainability. As a result, fashion brands and manufacturers have recognized this shift in consumer preferences and have begun to adapt their practices to meet the demand for eco-friendly denim.
Green denim entails a comprehensive approach to denim production, incorporating environmentally friendly practices at every stage of the manufacturing process. From the cultivation of organic cotton to the manufacturing and finishing processes, sustainable techniques are employed to minimize the negative impact on the environment. This holistic approach enables fashion enthusiasts to enjoy denim products that are not only stylish but also ethically and ecologically sound.
One of the key components of green denim production is the use of organic cotton. Unlike conventionally grown cotton, which relies heavily on synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), organic cotton is cultivated without these harmful inputs. By opting for organic cotton, green denim manufacturers reduce water pollution, protect biodiversity, and promote soil health. This shift towards organic cotton cultivation significantly contributes to a more sustainable future for denim production.
Another crucial aspect of green denim is the adoption of natural indigo dyes. Traditionally, denim fabrics were dyed using synthetic indigo, which is not only environmentally harmful but also poses health risks for the workers involved in the dyeing process. In contrast, natural indigo dyes are derived from plants and offer a biodegradable and less toxic alternative. By using natural indigo, green denim manufacturers ensure that the dyeing process is more sustainable and safer for both the environment and the workers.
Moreover, water conservation plays a pivotal role in green denim production. Conventional denim manufacturing processes consume vast amounts of water throughout various stages, such as cotton cultivation, dyeing, and finishing. However, green denim manufacturers have implemented innovative dyeing techniques that minimize water usage without compromising on the quality and appearance of the denim. Techniques like foam dyeing and laser technology significantly reduce water consumption, alleviating water scarcity concerns and reducing the environmental impact of denim production.
Energy efficiency is also a crucial focus in green denim production. Manufacturers are increasingly adopting renewable energy sources and investing in energy-efficient machinery to minimize the carbon footprint associated with denim manufacturing. By reducing energy consumption and transitioning to cleaner energy sources, green denim contributes to mitigating climate change and creating a more sustainable future.
In addition to these sustainable practices, green denim manufacturers prioritize recycling and upcycling denim waste. Discarded garments and denim scraps are repurposed into new products or incorporated as recycled fibers in the production process. This circular approach to denim production minimizes textile waste, conserves resources, and promotes a more sustainable and circular economy.
The benefits of green denim extend beyond environmental considerations. By choosing green denim, consumers actively support fair labor practices and social responsibility. Green denim manufacturers prioritize the welfare of workers, providing safe working conditions and fair wages. They also eliminate harmful chemicals from the production process, protecting the health and well-being of the workers involved. Thus, embracing green denim is not only an eco-friendly choice but also a commitment to supporting ethical and sustainable fashion practices.
The rise of green denim has revolutionized the denim industry, offering a sustainable and stylish alternative to traditional denim production. Through the adoption of organic cotton cultivation, natural indigo dyes, water conservation measures, energy efficiency, and recycling initiatives, green denim manufacturers have successfully addressed the environmental concerns associated with denim production. By choosing green denim, fashion enthusiasts can make a significant positive impact on the environment and support brands that prioritize sustainability and ethical practices. Green denim represents a step towards a more sustainable future, where fashion and environmental consciousness can coexist harmoniously.
The Environmental Impact of Traditional Denim Production
Before delving into the realm of green denim, it's essential to understand the environmental impact associated with traditional denim production. Traditional denim manufacturing processes are notorious for their excessive water usage, chemical pollution, and high carbon footprint.
Conventional denim production requires large amounts of water for various stages, including cotton cultivation, dyeing, and finishing. According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), it takes around 2,000 gallons (7,600 liters) of water to produce a single pair of jeans. This water-intensive process depletes natural resources and contributes to water scarcity in many regions.
Additionally, the dyeing and finishing processes involve the use of hazardous chemicals, such as synthetic indigo dyes and toxic fixatives. These chemicals not only pose a threat to the environment but also to the workers involved in the production process. Furthermore, the energy-intensive machinery and transportation required for traditional denim production contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, exacerbating climate change.
The Rise of Green Denim
Recognizing the need for sustainable alternatives, the fashion industry has started to embrace green denim. Green denim refers to denim products that are produced using eco-friendly and socially responsible methods. These methods aim to minimize the negative impact on the environment and promote fair labor practices throughout the supply chain.
Green denim involves a holistic approach to denim production, from the cultivation of organic cotton to the manufacturing and finishing processes. By adopting innovative techniques and materials, manufacturers can significantly reduce the environmental footprint of denim production.
Sustainable Practices in Green Denim Production
Green denim manufacturers prioritize sustainable practices at every stage of production. One of the fundamental changes involves the use of organic cotton. Unlike conventional cotton, organic cotton is cultivated without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This reduces water pollution, protects biodiversity, and promotes soil health.
Furthermore, green denim manufacturers employ natural indigo dyes, which are derived from plants, rather than synthetic indigo. Natural indigo dyes are biodegradable and less harmful to both the environment and the workers who handle them. Additionally, manufacturers minimize water usage through innovative dyeing techniques, such as foam dyeing, which requires less water compared to traditional dyeing methods.
To reduce the energy consumption associated with denim production, green denim manufacturers employ renewable energy sources and energy-efficient machinery. They also focus on recycling and upcycling denim waste, repurposing discarded garments into new products or incorporating recycled fibers into their production processes.
The Benefits of Green Denim
Green denim offers a range of benefits, making it an attractive choice for both consumers and fashion brands. Firstly, green denim promotes sustainable agriculture practices by encouraging the cultivation of organic cotton. This reduces the reliance on synthetic chemicals and protects the health of farmers and surrounding ecosystems.
Secondly, green denim contributes to water conservation by implementing water-efficient dyeing techniques and minimizing water usage throughout the production process. This not only helps to alleviate water scarcity issues but also reduces pollution from chemical dyes and wastewater discharge.
Thirdly, green denim supports fair labor practices and social responsibility. Manufacturers prioritize the welfare of workers by providing safe working conditions, fair wages, and eliminating harmful chemicals from the production process. By choosing green denim, consumers can support brands that value ethical and sustainable practices.
Lastly, green denim offers consumers a stylish and eco-friendly option. With advancements in technology and design, green denim is now available in a variety of styles, cuts, and washes, catering to diverse fashion preferences. From high-end designer labels to affordable fashion brands, green denim has made its mark in the fashion industry, proving that sustainability and style can coexist.
Embracing Green Denim: How You Can Make a Difference
As consumers, we have the power to drive change by making conscious choices in our fashion purchases. Here are a few ways you can embrace green denim and contribute to a sustainable future:
Choose green denim brands: Look for fashion brands that prioritize sustainability and transparency in their denim production. Check for certifications such as GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard) to ensure the authenticity of organic cotton.
Extend the lifespan of your denim: Invest in quality green denim pieces and take care of them properly to ensure longevity. Wash your denim sparingly, using cold water, and air dry them whenever possible. This reduces energy consumption and preserves the color and shape of your denim.
Support circular fashion initiatives: Explore options for recycling or upcycling your old denim. Many brands and organizations offer programs to collect and repurpose old denim into new products. By participating in these initiatives, you contribute to reducing textile waste and promoting a circular economy.
Educate yourself and spread awareness: Stay informed about sustainable fashion practices and share your knowledge with others. By raising awareness about the environmental impact of traditional denim production and the benefits of green denim, you can inspire others to make more conscious fashion choices.
Embracing Green Denim for a Sustainable Future
In conclusion, green denim offers a sustainable and stylish alternative to traditional denim production. By prioritizing organic cotton, water conservation, renewable energy, and fair labor practices, green denim manufacturers are paving the way for a more eco-friendly fashion industry. As consumers, we have the ability to drive change by supporting green denim brands, extending the lifespan of our denim, and spreading awareness about sustainable fashion. By embracing green denim, we can contribute to a more sustainable future and make a positive impact on the environment and society as a whole.

And on the topic of redesigns, here's how I would redesign the D4 characters. If a character isn't mentioned here, it's because I like their outfits in the movie and wouldn't redesign it much:
Chloe: Brown hair, often styled in braid(s) so they're away from her face from sword fighting. Looks as though she came from the lap of luxury itself with high-end fabrics and materials. A deeper blue for the majority of her clothes, with lighter blues and whites as accents. More feminine, again going into that luxury angle with bits of gold jewelry and sparkly boots. Maybe a slight skirt train when she's not fighting, or a sparkly shirt with ruffles at the end, resembling a skirt
Red: Keeping the red hair, but more muted; I think brown roots would look really nice on her, as though she dyed her hair out of rebellion, which adds to her arc. Natural brown hair could also play into her being less of a VK. Also keeping the leathers, but a ton more black into her outfits to help with the bright red. White is also an accent color, but she has less of it compared to Chloe. More harsh angles and shapes to set them apart, tank top girly instead of the standard t-shirt
Bridget: Red hair, but muted like Red's. Definitely a lot more curls to her, though, and I think she'd also look really cute with a bow. Very extra and ultra-feminine, is obviously rich but doesn't necessarily flaunt it. While her fabrics are high end, she has minimal jewelry and prefers to stick to a more modest style of dressing. Lighter pink for the majority of the outfits to match her hair better but some hot pinks here or there to help her stand out. Puffed up sleeves, short skirts that are similarly puffy (and sparkly) with some type of bottom. Flats instead of boots, nails painted with card designs
Ella: Exact opposite of Bridget. Braids are done in a similar fashion to Chloe's, but a more utility-esque purpose. Denim for the majority of her clothes, keeping that "scrapped together" feel, and very very minimal makeup. Oversized clothing occasionally due to hand-me-downs from Anastasia and Drizzella. Nailbeds are cracked from working so much, and her boots are muddy, form and function over style. Her outfit from "Get Your Hands Dirty" is really what I'm going for
Maleficent: Out with the hair-wrapped horns. Out with them. They're also going to be shorter, not as grown in, and more standing up to resemble the ones from D1 and "Sleeping Beauty". Dark purple hair, darker than Mal's, kept up in a ponytail braid. Victorian clothing with lace, a lot more drapey, almost trailing on the ground. Long nails, purple with green decals. Her outfit is primarily black with dark purple and neon green accents, and her boots are leather with a sharp heel. Black lipstick and a smokey eye to finish
Morgie: I really don't like that scarf. I know it's supposed to resemble a snake, but it just looks tacky. Tighter clothing made of fine materials, a vest with an almost scale-like design to it. Leather pants with that similar scale style running down the sides. Drapey sleeves are alright, but I feel like he could also do without them. Painted nails for sure, though, he would rock a green. More gold decals and a mild green for his color palette Also I think the eye thing should be permanent

Outerwear: The occasional jacket or blazer, denim or wool, but generally prefers to go without (he likes to show off the spikes on his arms and that’s harder to do when they’re completely covered)

BUD-A-BOOP-BOP! TWINS!
boy HOWDY have some THURSDAY NIGHT SCRIMBLES! 🥳 Now in magical TECHICOLOUR! It's older Twins! Fino and Fiera!
Design stuff below the cut 🤗🤗
My god I'm having fun with these markers. But the colours are LIMITED as I only have like 2 starter sets and they're FUN but deffs I could use a few more in betweens.
ANYWAY. DESIGNS.
Fino
Doing my boy first bc we already had fun with Older Fiera ages ago lmao
I'd been wanting to share his older design for AGES tbh! Had it in me head around the same time as I shared the older twins and Jacquie scribbles lol. ANYWAY
He is SEMI fancy! Big fan of button downs and vests/waistcoats!
Doesn't ALWAYS wear the vest
His shirts 9/10 times have funky patterns. Like fungi or flowers or just the weirdest fucking designs you EVER did see. His siblings and orc friend (Kenothy) all make it a fun game to find him the most OBNOXIOUSLY WEIRD SHIRTS. His collection is HUGE and VARIED and HURTS THE EYES FIFTY PERCENT OF THE TIME
he is like a walking mullet but the business is on top, the party is below. He is a jeans man through and through and you can pry his converse/kicks off his cold, dead feet tbh. they are ALWAYS red. he probably has like 10 pairs like some kinda cartoon character
belt is pink bc fiera's magic! the inside of his cloak is rainbow, like his twin's fire :D
the cloak also does have a big old hood and covers his whole him so he can look mysteriouse
and then give people whiplash when he whips the cloak back and pulls the hood down and. well. on fire colourful schemey looking young man
everyone's usually like "i didn't expect the freckles. or the fungi shirt"
the fungi shirt is his fave
plz picture a fungi pattern all over his shirt!
when he uses his staff, the flame turns rainbow too and the snowflake glows :3
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Fino's warlock aesthetic is "i live in your local forest and i love my family and i'm making it everyone's problem"
the outside of the cloak is a nice forest green! bc he likes forests (if that wasn't obvious lol)
he's pretty chill but has resting plotting face. generally if he's looking like that he has examined every angle of a situation and is about to make a bigger one. or fix the current one. or both!! and is VERY proud of himself!!!! (as he SHOULD be!)
he and Fiera ARE the same height but I drew Fiera first and started Fino top down as you do but neglected to watch the height lol. so just know. they are BOTH tall and BOTH the same height!!!!
He is the BEST warlock of the current era he is warlocking in. If Uncle Pyros was around he'd be mad jealous. Same with Granny Frost tbh. Grandpa Winter would like, lift him up like Simba like "THAT'S MY GRANDBSON! THE BEST WARLOCK IN THE WHOLE WORLD!"
(if the bio grandparents were around, you bet it would be a big case of "the in-laws don't get along" lmao)
Fiera
pink is her fave colour and the colour of her magic, so her shirt, shoes, AND hair ribbons are all pink, but it's a lil light, innit? like i said, limited colours lol
BUT WE'RE HAVING A GRAND OLD TIME DOWN THIS WAY.
EVEN IF MY NOSE SMELLS LIKE ALCOHOL ALL THE DAMN TIME
RIGHT. FIERA.
HOT PANTS! SHE'S GOT HOT PANTS!!! They're not that dark blue, bit of a lighter wash for her denim (but I don't have a lot of blue options lol)
suspenders are red bc FINO'S MAGIC! one is always hanging off of her, the other is always up. she doesn't do this on purpose it just HAPPENS bc she doesn't actually really need them? it's the FASHION. the STYLE.
sometimes hair ribbons are red too, bc Fino magic :3
ALSO wears converse but the boot like ones, bc I've always wanted a pair of boot converse! They look SOO COOL and SOO INCONVENIENT, AND THEY ARE COLOURFUL! I mean. Fiera's are pink but I'VE SEEN ALL THE COLOURS. AND I WANT.
I mean. why make OCs if not for them to wear the things you can't have/afford/pull off?
huehuehue
she's not THAT buff tho she is pretty strong. i am a writer by trade so my doodles are not to scale (read: scrimbly). anyway, she's probably usually a tank/halter top person??? this doodle just really wanted to be a t-shirt!
both twins have elements of their outfits inspired by the fam, not TOTALLY on purpose but it did make me cackle as I noticed them so TAKE THIS QUICK SYNOPSIS:
Fino:
dress shirt, belt over suspenders: blaise vibes
big ol cloak: winter vibes
comfortable shoes: jacquie vibes
vest: jack vibes
Fiera:
suspenders: jack and blaise vibes (both are known to wear them as an accessory instead of for their intended purpose of keeping pants up)
hot pants and boot like shoes: jacquie vibes
hair buns: winter vibes
man, I love the older twins. the SHENANIGANS they get INTO! they're a dream team, you won't know what hit you by the time they're through with you 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I just had a school memory unlocked from a time a grown ass man, a teacher/principal sexulized me as a minor and blamed me for it.
when i was a teen, i tried very hard to be as feminine as I could to ~force myself to be a girl~ just to make everyone happy, since they were very unhappy with my boyish ways that didn't go away as i became a teen, like they expected would happen. so they bullied me into wearing a feminine mask, so to speak.
anyway, I dressed overly feminine for a few years and copied hayley from paramore as much as i possibly could, because i didnt know how to be a "girl" and she had a fun fashion sense and was very loved and adored. seemed like a winner, so i chose her to emulate. if you know her, you may know of her often wearing shorts with tights under them, and that became my go-to outfit choice for a few years in school. I didn't like having bare legs, so when it was hot out i'd wear shorts with tights or leggings under them (winter was bright color skinny jeans).
Tumblr media
there was no rule against this in dress code. nothing about tights related to shorts. only that tights can't be snagged/ripped and you had to wear something over tights and leggings and they can't be worn as pants alone. also, shorts/skirts had to be finger tip length. which they were. i made sure all my shorts were long enough. they were tights like this with green denim shorts over them:
Tumblr media
well, one day the principal randomly pulled me from my lunch table and took me to a quiet, secluded spot to complain about my outfit. "has no one told you what you're wearing is inappropriate? *gestures to my legs*"
me confused, replying ????no?? I've been wearing this for a few years. and him telling me to never come back to school wearing that again. I asked him why, but of course, he didn't have a real answer besides "it's not allowed," while staring at my legs the whole time. I said it's not in the rule book, i checked before wearing it, so he said something like it should be obvious that it's not allowed to purposely distract the boys and male teachers, that I was knowingly trying to attract them to me and be ~sexy- and that's not appropriate at school. 😬
I said I was just wearing what I wanted to for myself. because people complained I wasn't feminine enough, it was hot out, and i dont like to have bare legs showing??? why is the combination of shorts and tights bad?! the rules say leggings need to have shorts or skirts over them. I don't like skirts. I even showed him my shorts are the proper length. but he still decided I was trying to be a whore at school for some reason. 🤢🤢🤢🤢
i'm asexual. and the sex repulsed kind to top it off. the pure insinuation of such thing was enough to make me insanely nauseous.
I was very distracted and uncomfortable the rest of the day in every class. literally no one else was distracted by my COVERED LEGS, though, like that man claimed.
that was the only time i'd ever gotten any complaints or mention of my clothing in 3 years i'd been wearing that same kind of thing. no one else cared. it was the first time he'd even seen me! I felt so uncomfortable and the way he talked and stared felt so violating.
that was the final straw that broke my gender and caused me to go full transmasc mode at that time. I was so disgusted that trying to be a girl for everyone meant I was sexulized as a literal CHILD that I gave up. I only wore "boy" clothes after that and cut all my hair off.
fast forward, we had to do a final presentation before graduating and I learned he was one of the judges for that. we had a "professional dress code" we had to follow for it. girls were to wear nice dresses or skirts and guys button downs and ties and stuff like that. one girl (who I suspect was actually also closet trans, nb, or trans masc) got approval for girls to wear dress pants. so I wore the most boyish outfit I could. pants, button down, suit vest, and tie. basically just to spite that man and the gross way he talked and looked at me. I wasn't going to satisfy his weird need to sexualize teen girls. I can't remember his reaction because I had to focus on doing a presentation in front of a bunch of people and that was a pain in the ass. it was a sensory nightmare so my brain made that part foggy.
I basically stick with androgynous to this day, because of gross shit from men and boys like this who decided being a girl or feminine is a crime because it means you ~must be trying to attract them and make them suffer~ i'm uncomfortable exploring feminine things even if I want to. this is why it took so long to fully figure out and explore and come out with being nonbinary rather than trans masc. I have even more traumatic stories related to gross men who went after me and made me push femininity away as much as possible, like the freak that blamed me for making him be a pedo 🤢 but yeah, maybe those are for another day....

What You Need To Know When Buying T-Shirts Wholesale For Spring 2024
The chill won’t be sticking around much longer. So it’s farewell to all the heavyweight cold-busting clothing. With spring around the corner, consumer focus just shifted back to t-shirts; vibrant ones for that matter. Time for apparel stores to brace for a makeover demanded by the new season and start stocking up on wholesale blank and custom t-shirts.
This article will help you all navigate spring fashion with t-shirts, with a few savvy tips.
But first…
The Brand Conundrum
Buying t-shirts wholesale can be a pain. But if you know which brand works for you and your customers, you can bring your offerings into the market faster. If it's the sheer variety of colors you need, you should check out Gildan. For eco-friendly t-shirts, we recommend browsing our Comfort Colors t-shirts. For quality, our Port Authority t-shirts wholesale collection features t-shirts of distinct quality. For value-priced t-shirts with surprising longevity, we recommend getting Port & Company t-shirts wholesale.
Many brands offer apparel that serve specific purposes suiting specific environments, like Sport-Tek and its performance apparel. If your store specializes in performance gear, browse our Sport-Tek t-shirts wholesale catalog for budget-friendly apparel crafted for high-performance. There are many gems to find in ShirtsBargain, at low wholesale prices and volume discounts.
Spring Colors
If you have a brand in mind, the next step is to tackle the color palette. Spring is not the season to shy away from vibrant hues and pastel undertones. Lavender, soft pink, sky blue, and green can transform your racks into a visual symphony that can impress visitors at first sight. But, here's a quirky twist: why not throw in a few unexpected splashes of neon? A neon yellow T-shirt complemented by a neon trucker hat might just be the wildcard that shoppers didn't know they needed. While going for colors that manifest the spirit of the season, you can still keep all-season colors in stock.
Spring Decorations
You can go for graphics like floral motifs and modern illustrations of nature that echo the rejuvenation of spring. Or unique, original prints that can resonate with the collective yearning for warmth and renewal.
The demand for blank t-shirts seems to be almost at peak during the spring season. Their unadorned simplicity can be just as compelling as a custom decorated t-shirt, offering a counterpoint to the season's explosion of colors and patterns.
Spring Fabrics
Comfort and style went hand in hand during winter. So it remains during spring. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are the order of the season. Cotton remains the undisputed champion, but blends that offer a bit of stretch or moisture-wicking properties can be particularly appealing. They promise the wearer the freedom, mobility, and comfort to explore the outdoors.
Incorporating District t-shirts wholesale into your inventory could be the masterstroke for this season. Known for their quality and comfort, these T-shirts can be the foundation to build your spring collection upon.
Accessorizing T-shirts is where the fun really begins. Encourage your customers to think of T-shirts as the base layer of a potentially iconic spring outfit. A floral print T-shirt paired with a denim jacket and statement sunglasses? Or perhaps a plain tee, dressed up with a chunky necklace and a breezy skirt for those warmer evenings. The idea is to mix, match, and experiment. After all, spring is the season of new beginnings.
Trust ShirtsBargain to navigate the season with confidence, flair and a lot of savings on your wholesale purchases.

The Allure of Olive Green Shirts by The Bear House
The magnetic pull of the olive green shirt goes beyond conventional fashion norms. Olive green isn't a monochrome entity; it's a rich spectrum of possibilities. From the deep, mossy tones reminiscent of ancient forests to the sunlit golden shades mirroring desert landscapes, each variation possesses a distinct character. Stay Warm and Stylish with Bomber Jackets
The bomber jacket has an undeniably traditional appearance; its streamlined construction, luxurious material, and classic design make it one of the most cherished pieces to ever adorn our closets.  Thus, the cause of their steadily rising demand throughout the year is well known, but extensive information on their efficacy is covered up.
It is essential to examine the fabric composition of a bomber jacket in order to determine whether or not it can keep in the warmth during the winter. The most important thing to consider in this situation is insulation: and so the thought arises if any specific style of the bomber jacket has enough padding and lining to hold its fending ability.
Bomber Jackets’ Variance
There are many distinct kinds of bomber jackets to meet different purposes. There are thin quilted alternatives, which are perfect for warm weather, and heavy down-filled ones with duck down filling, which retains extra warmth during chilly times. There is waist length or hip length styles depending on need. Rest, various furred bomber jackets, magnificent shearling bombers and puffer leather bomber wears come with an exquisite collection. Rabbit and mink fur bombers being the most significant categories among natural furred wears. Fur bombers are noted for their light weight, just like leather bombers are for their long lifespan.
Besides, bombers are among the versatile apparels in concern to both weather and style. Hooded ones forms a great winter shield against extreme cold weather.
Bomber Jackets in Extreme Cold
According to Mark Twain, "Clothes make the man"—and that goes even when he's attempting to endure the chilly weather! Here are four explanations to justifications of Bomber jackets for men being one of the best winter ensembles:
1) They offer the most warmth since they are typically composed of premium materials like shearling wool pelts or authentic fur or even puffed leather that act as an effective barrier and retain standard warmth.
2) They contain cozy pockets which keep palms warm and thereby also securing stored items.
3) The chic patterns come in a variety of colors to suit every preference, from vibrant shades like red or green to traditional neutrals like black and grey.
4) They can be paired up with any trousers and pants to reflect casual, semi-formal, or formal attire. Rest, they might also be additionally carried with an underlying sweater.
As a result, one has the option of selecting insulation levels without sacrificing comfort or elegance.
These aspects taken together demonstrate how effective a bomber jacket is as weather protection during the winter.
Making a statement with Bomber Jackets
It takes skill to match bomber jackets with winter clothing. Finding the right balance between staying warm and looking fashionable is important. Start with a few essential pieces to achieve this, such as a timeless black leather jacket, some dark denim, and some boots or sneakers. Additionally, depending on how chilly it is outdoors, layer up with sweaters or hoodies underneath your coat. These can range from thick knits to thin layers. To finish the ensemble, add additional accessories like scarves, caps, and gloves.
Try wearing your bomber jacket with a shirt and pants in muted hues like grey or navy blue for a more formal look. This will give you a smart-casual appearance that won't overheat but still makes you look professional.
This winter, there are tons of ways to dress up your bomber jacket; just keep in mind to stay warm while maintaining a stylish appearance. Whatever the weather throws at you, you'll be prepared with the correct layers and accessories.
Getting Quality Bombers
The secret to a smart winter wardrobe is finding the ideal bomber jacket. It might be challenging to know where to begin shopping when there are so many options available. Here are some things to think about when choosing where to get your winter bomber jacket.
Look for a winter bomber jacket that is made of high-quality fabric and construction. In cold weather, it should maintain the warmth while yet fitting comfortably over multiple layers of clothing. Consider how frequently you will wear the jacket as well. If you anticipate using it frequently, investing in a more expensive alternative can be worthwhile.
By taking all of these things into consideration, you can select the ideal winter bomber jacket that suits both your desires for style and your budget, ensuring that you are ready for any weather this season!
Inclusion
The bomber jacket is the perfect piece of winter apparel. Even on the coldest days, one can look the best because to its warmth and style. The bomber jacket is capable of withstanding the rigors of winter weather by following a few easy methods.  To complete the ideal winter style and stay warm in your chic bomber jacket, one can accessorize with scarves and hats.
Since World War I, when pilots required a durable yet stylish item to keep them warm during lengthy flights, this traditional garment has been around.  A top-quality bomber will always be there to provide warmth and protection from the intensity of winter's chill. Its classic style guarantees not only style but also functionality, and when we fight the chilly temperatures together, its dependable warmth envelops us like a warm blanket.

Brand identity is what makes your brand recognisable to your customer and how you want your brand to be perceived. One thing out of the many that makes a brand identity is a logo. Logos are important because it’s one of the many things that makes your brand memorable, and one of the main factors that compels people towards your brand depending on the appearance, for example it would need to be eye catching and something unique so that consumers are able to differentiate between other brands. Logos are often inspired by the history of a brand and should communicate the vision and purpose of the brand. One good example of a well known eye catching logo is apple, in Steve jobs biography he said the name ‘apple’ sounded “fun, spirited and not intimidating”, he wanted to create a company that went against the cold intimidating image computer companies had at the time and that’s a perfect example of a brand that showcases something new, unique and creative which differentiates themselves from other business which makes it eye catching to the consumers.
Our group decided to focus on sustainability and by doing this we are recycling denim jeans and patch working them, this sparked an idea for a brand name that I chose which is called ‘patching works’ the whole idea of this is is to communicate the patch work on jeans works in many ways like creating a fashion statement, allowing children to explore their creativity and just looking good in general, it works! For the logo I was thinking of having ripped pieces creating the letter ‘w’ or even a ‘p’ this is to give it that patchwork effect photos of my progression is shown below
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
23/02/2023
The patching works logo has been improved, as a group we moved away from the idea of having ragged edges for the logo because we felt like at first glance it didn't communicate that it was a kids brand and wouldn’t appeal to our target market which are millennials. to help us move forward from this I had a look at other kids brands and what style approach they went for and found the brand 'Ella Bella Boo' which is known for its playful and cute design because of its illustrations and their choice of colour palette so we decided to take a more softer approach by having pastel colours such as green pink blue yellow and orange, we chose to have a range of colours so it’s more exciting and appealing to kids but also  the brand comes across gender neutral.
Tumblr media
When it comes to typography other child brands include fun illustration creative fonts which makes it more enticing and welcoming for kids we have chosen to do bubble writing, the soft round edges makes it more suitable and welcoming for our kid brand while  also attracting parents showing them that our brand is what’s best for their children. Our colour palette includes calm pastel tones we chose this because according to  colour psychology since pastel colours are less saturated, they are often associated with calming and peaceful vibes. Pastel colours have a soft look that is soothing and easier on the eyes. Having a calming approach with the logo would help to communicate that our brand is what’s right for their child when it comes to their experience, other children brands have been seen doing so example being 'Ella Bella Boo' also includes soft pastel tones in their logo and has a nice illustration included to stand out more .
Tumblr media
For patching works we have illustrated patches on the letters which obviously communicates the basis of our brand and that there are patches on the jeans but it will also catch the children's eye because it’s a fun illustration also has a playful effect.
Tone of voice is how a brand communicates and connects with its audience through messaging and customer interactions. We aim for our tone of voice to communicate that we’re a welcoming fun brand that creates an experience and encourage kids to explore their style with patching works in the most comfiest way possible .This is shown on our logo 'patching works' as it already telling the consumer that denim patchwork, works and its showcased wherever we can, for example every customizable patchwork denim that is purchased has our logo stitched onto it so if consumers are happy they are reminded by our slogan which is also our brand name patching works so already . It's also seen on our website and our instagram photos of our collections and children laughing and looking comfortable while wearing them which represents our values of wanting children to have fun and encouraging their creativity.

Shingeki no Kyojin Headcanons: 104th training corps (College AU - Outfits pt I)
Hello, Postmodernbeing here. I decided to continue writing about this College AU , only this time, I'm making some outfits HCs, since I'm working in a oneshot and this visuals could be helpful. Also, it seemed like a lot of fun so I've decided to give it a try. Hope y'all like this. Much love.
IMPORTANT: I do not own Shingeki no Kyojin nor the trend of this outfits-displays, only this HCs belong to me. // Contains spoilers (for the icons that I used in some characters) // English is not my first language, so I ask for your patience and understanding.
Tumblr media
Eren Yeager
Chains and rings of stainless-steel. Combat boots matching faux-leather jackets with studs and pins from bands.
Has a few flannel shirts (that he stole from Zeke, his brother doesn't mind, tho). But for the most part, Eren's shirts are from merch of bands with a few (handmade) changes.
Eren likes to sew badly on purpose some patterns or figures by following quick tutorials. All his clothes are modified or drawn over.
While his main looks are metal head alike, he also wears snickers, hoodies, sporty pants, and jackets to class. Pretty laid back, he looks as he just woke up from a nap all the time tbh.
Sometimes goes skating but he’s not that good, his skateboard is more of a fashion statement really.
Has both ears pierced around (lobe type) and tattoos on both arms.
It’s pretty obvious to this point, but I’ll say it anyways: Eren wears black religiously. Definitely he’s open to darker shades of any color, but must wear something black at least.
Tumblr media
Mikasa Ackerman
Our girl wears black clothes mostly. She doesn’t have a preference between skirts/dresses or pants, but you’ll rarely see her wearing jeans.
Many skirts and ripped tights to match with platform boots or classic converse. Also owns a large wardrobe with different hoodie and shirt sizes and designs yet mostly in dark shades.
Lots of necklaces and rings with perforations to match, none in her face yet lots in her ears. Mikasa has only one tattoo: Azumabito’s clan logo.
Speaking about Azumabito’s, whenever she’s working with them, she wears faux leather jackets at most, and her classic red turtleneck. Nothing too exaggerated nor formal.
A total goth since middle school, and even though in college finds it a bit unpractical, she tries to keep it as loyal to her style as possible.
Books and notebooks are part of her attires. She’d be writing or reading at any time that’s possible. Not always about her classes, tho. She also likes novels and arts. An artsy goth, perhaps?
Tumblr media
Armin Arlert
Sky blue is his color. Matching it with classy pants and blazers in clear colors.
His wardrobe looks like one that belongs to an aristocrats’ son. Some light-academia realness.
He can pull off some casual looks with sneakers but it’s more common for him to wear his oxfords, cap toes or moccasins to class, or anywhere really.
Cardigans, vests and blazers are his best friends as soon as autumn arrives. Always in colors such as beige, green, brown, and grey.
Armin is easily the best dressed from all his group of friends, and I’m not even open to discuss this. Let’s just remember his canon outfits throughout the four seasons. Even in a Modern AU he’ll keep being the king he is.
Not a big fan of accessories though. Except for his handkerchiefs that match his blazers. Since his grandfather used to choose his clothes, he taught Armin that a handkerchief was a gentleman’s must carry. Now he wears them only to pay his grandpa honor, as a lesson more so.
Tumblr media
Jean Kirstein
King of brown jackets and turtlenecks. Really, his wardrobe is in such color harmony. It’s impressive.
Little to no accessories besides an occasional scarf or a single ring matching some bracelet.
Although he’s used to wear a consistent type of clothes and even colors, he wouldn’t dare to define a style for himself, is it boho? art hoe? dark academia? Maybe we’ll never know.
Zero perforations only because he’s scared of pain, but Jean is really drawn into them, so he uses fake ones for his ears sometimes. Has only one little hidden tattoo, made when he started college and lost a bet against Sasha and Connie.
Jean’s always stylish, clean, and smelling like cologne. He also has an extensive routine for shaving, combing his hair and trimming his beard.
Second best dressed of all his friends. Lowkey loves fashion but keeps it for himself (and Marco). Plus, in her mother’s house he keeps more clothes than his dorm' wardrobe can storage.
Tumblr media
Marco Bodt
Colorful, youthful, and casual, that’s his style. Marco’s clothes reflect his joyful personality and every time he enters a room, he brightens the mood so easily.
A lot of denim and if he’s not wearing bright colors, you can be sure he’s caring something white with him (a bandana, a baseball cap, a scarf or his sneakers).
Shares with Jean a special appreciation for clothing, except Marco prefers more laidback and casual outfits.
Has no tattoos but recently got both ears pierced. He decided to since he really likes the earrings that k-pop idols wear.
If spring was a wardrobe, Marco would have it. I can’t stress this enough. Just so pretty and genuine.
Also, he definitely uses accessories (small jelly or colorful rings, bracelets of all kinds and simple necklaces) but there's more, he uses objects that are not meant to as accessories too. Such as band aids and small stickers around his face, skates in his backpack and flowers in his pockets.
Tumblr media
Sasha Blouse
Unironically messy style. No matching patterns nor colors, different textures and sizes that made little to no coordination in her outfits. Unaesthetic is her aesthetic.
She likes baggy jackets and jeans with big pockets for snacks obviously, midi-skirts and graphic tees. Sasha is the definition of zero fucks given and still looking cute.
Of course, she knows how to pull off some cool outfits, it’s just that she doesn’t care that much unless is specifically required.
Not a big fan of accessories besides belts (maybe) and her backpack. Unless we’re talking about bucket hats that became a must wear thanks to Connie.
“Borrows” Nicolo’s hoodies/shirts that wears with her favorite threads. Then plays dumb when her bf asks her about his clothes. They both secretly love that dynamic.
Sasha plays it safe when it's about her hairstyle, also not a big fan of makeup -at least not the way Mikasa or Historia do-, but she’s open to try new things if her best friends dare her to.

Connie Springer
King of striped shirts and golden chains. His style is mainly urban and youthful. Conniegod remains unmatched in his awesomeness even in a Modern AU, if you ask me.
Owns a collection of sneakers that wears with his numerous printed socks. So creative and colorful.
Also, Connie has a small collection of unique shaped tinted glasses, also bucket hats and simple stainless steel chains.
Has small fun tattoos around his legs and arms, ears pieced but nothing too grunge. Speaking of which, he matches religiously his earrings with his chains that hang of his belt.
Usually wears dress pants or cargo pants. Anything but denim or really skinny fitted pants. Coincidentally, most of his shirts are loose too.
Definitely brings his skateboard with him all the time so it’s part of the outfit, really (Eren tried to copy that from Connie, let’s be honest). He’s so good at skating, and when he doesn’t feel like walking around campus, skating is always a good idea.

Dreams, Chapter 19
If you haven’t read this series before, you might want to start on Chapter 1, or check out the Dreams Masterlist! Here’s the series description:
When Dean dies for good leaving Sam and his girlfriend (the reader) behind, they must figure out how to carry on without him. Alone, reeling, and unsure what to do next, trying to honor Dean’s memory and follow their hearts gets even more complicated when their nightmares become dreams that feel a little too real.
Title: Dreams, Chapter 19
Pairing: (past) Dean Winchester x Reader, (eventual) Sam Winchester x Reader
Word Count: 4274
Summary: Life settles into routine as summer comes in Wisconsin.
Warnings: FLUFF, swearing, some smut
Tumblr media
You’d never been so aware of the date after that, somehow feeling like you’d reset your circadian rhythm to know precisely how long two weeks was. Mercifully on the part of the universe, Dean had been right about the lack of reset function as long as you stayed within the same mind; once, just to try, you had entered Sam’s dream and found that Sam Barbie and Sam Mike hadn’t met Dean yet.
At Dean’s request Sam put a huge amount of effort toward ‘being normal,’ integrating into the community in a more purposeful way. You became friendly with a couple cheerful hairdressers from the salon in the next town over when they started coming to the bar for after work drinks and Sam began getting invited to the poker games Steve hosted. One of your favorite of these new habits was going to the farmer’s market dutifully every week. It reminded you every time of how simple this new life was, where you had spare mental capacity to think about whether you wanted nectarines or peaches because there was no terror dangling just overhead. It also helped distract you from all-consuming thoughts of seeing Dean on alternate Sunday nights, the way your body felt like it vibrated with anticipation for the few days before.
The two of you had been going for months by the first market in July, long enough to know all the first names of the regular vendors and greet them as you went. You were feeling somehow even more acutely anxious-excited at the upcoming Sunday, Dean having told you both last time that he had a surprise planned. It encouraged you to give more of a concerted effort to linger at every single booth, extend every single moment of killed time you could get from the outing. Sam let you lead the way, ring and pinky finger loosely linked into yours as you walked up and down the aisles of tents and tables in the overgrown gravel parking lot. He had a canvas bag half-filled with beets, green beans, some local honey, and a small carton of apricots. You paused to lean into his chest, waiting for Sam to bend down and kiss you in front of a table of essential oils decorated with macrame. The next one caught your eye, some hand-hewn jewelry, and you pulled him gently along.
“What do you think?” you asked, holding up some earrings clearly too gaudy to match your style with an exaggeratedly fashionable face.
“I think those really capture your essence, yeah,” Sam smiled.
“Or maybe this?” You slipped your hand into a heavy bangle absolutely covered in turquoise that felt like wearing an ankle weight.
He hitched the bag up on his shoulder and watched the show you put on for him, sweeping some hair back from your neck to let you see a set of earrings in the tiny mirror on the table. His gaze flicked over the wares and he gingerly picked up a small gold band from a tray. It was probably the most understated piece on the table, and definitely the one most likely to fit with the no-nonsense jewelry you tended to wear—the things you were drawn to being more sentimental reminders than ostentatious presentation, intended to be put on once and never taken off.
“I think this one looks the most like you,” Sam hummed, offering it up for you to try on. The band was medium-thick with rounded comfort edges and when you slipped it on it fit perfectly, just barely tight enough to feel exactly secure on your finger. He was right; it looked good on your hand like you had re-found an old piece that you’d lost, and you considered it for a second before you realized Sam was talking to the woman behind the table as she finished a transaction with a trio of teenaged girls getting matching woven bracelets.
“That one’s part of a set,” she cooed over to him, her hands resting in a homemade apron covered in embroidered flowers. “They should really go to the same home.”
You were impressed at Sam’s ability to keep himself from rolling his eyes at that kind of faux sentimental bullshit, but she had already turned her back to you, rifling in another box under the plastic table. She turned around with a larger copy of the ring and darted out, grabbing Sam’s hand quickly enough that he almost stumbled forward as she started to slip it onto his finger.
“Oh, I don’t really wear jewelr—” he started helplessly.
“See? Meant to be, it fits perfectly.” She clasped her hands in front of her chin excitedly, beaming over the table at you and Sam. You had to bite your lip to keep from laughing at the expression on his face as he tried inconspicuously to get the ring off.
“Um—wow, that’s really on there—how much for that one?” Sam asked, awkwardly pointing to the ring on your finger with his pinky as he kept working to try to get his off.
“$50 for the both of them.”
“Even the one has gotta be more than that,” he insisted, based on the displayed prices of the gaudy jewelry you’d played around with.
“I’d feel better knowing they were being appreciated together than I would with the money.”
You looked up at Sam with the kind of melting cotton candy look you felt like had been plastered to your face for weeks, soft and gooey and something you would’ve made fun of a stranger for. He abandoned trying to get the ring off and tongued a molar before pulling out his wallet and dropping 5 $20 bills on the table, pushing them across with the customer service smile he used at the bar. “Thank you, they’re, uh, they’re beautiful.”
She only unclasped her hands to stuff the bills in the apron, mouthing a “thank you” at the extra money and winking at Sam as the two of you walked away from the booth.
“Should we get you a big chain? Or I could pierce your ears with an ice cube and an apple back at the cabin,” you teased, getting used to the way the ring felt on your hand.
Sam couldn’t keep from rolling his eyes over a smirk. “I really can’t get it off.”
“I think maybe you just wanted to match me.”
He stopped walking and you spun around to face him, gazing up into his hazel eyes. “Matching you isn’t so bad.”
“Oh yeah?” You watched as a slow smirk spread across his face and he looked down at his feet between you. “Thank you, by the way. I really love it.”
“Just think you, um, deserve nice things.” A little color rose in his cheeks, and there was something so unbelievably sweet about it, being shy with you of all people. You had to press up to your tiptoes and pull Sam’s neck down to kiss him, but it was perfect, the light northern chill that sometimes drifted through the air even in July reminding you of your first kiss on that sledding hill except now it was your hand on Sam’s neck, blood seeping warm and loose through every capillary rather than the cold throb of anxiety you’d had then. With his lips on yours, delicate metal on your finger, and the earthy smell of the fresh produce in the air, you tried to commit to memory how unequivocally good the moment was, how completely outside the realm of possibility this would’ve seemed a year ago. Sam’s hand slipped to your lower back and pressed you to him. “Wanna get out of here?” he murmured into your ear, and it was all you could do not to jump him right there as you wound your fingers in his and wove through the booths to get back to the Impala.
Tumblr media
“Baby—you’ve gotta—fuck, I’m driving,” Sam laugh-moaned, shifting his hips just a little up into the hand you danced along the fly of his jeans.
You leaned across the bench seat and licked the faintest trail up his jugular vein. “Then pull over.”
His eyes closed deeply for a beat and hard swallow as he took a deep breath and took a right turn into what was likely a private driveway. It was a calculated move; probably not visible from the rural highway but if the people living here—the place sure to be occupied on a July weekend even if it wasn’t year-round—decided to leave they’d catch an eyeful of graphic roadblock. Knowing he was willing to take the risk made your heart race even faster, and Sam had barely thrown the car into park before he was on top of you, hand in your hair and tugging back roughly to bite-suck at your neck so hard and delicious you gasped before even realizing.
He grinned into your skin as he kissed you. “Gonna—tease me—like—that? After looking so good—being so sweet—all morning?” You slid your hands in his hair and pulled back, crashing into his mouth and tasting the honey he’d sampled with you at the farmer’s market. You hooked your leg around his hips and rolled up into him, almost salivating at the firm length of him against you and the friction of the denim. He pressed you flat to the bench seat and started working the buttons of your shirt, so lightning-fast he ripped one of the last ones clean off, sending it skittering across the dashboard as it flew. “Sorry,” he smiled as you bit his lip, not looking very sorry at all.
When your top was finally open Sam tugged at your bra, bypassing the clasp altogether in favor of exposing your nipples above it, somehow grazing his teeth and breathing cool air over them at once to send goosebumps flushing all over your body. You tried to undo the buttons of his shirt somewhat unsuccessfully for a moment before Sam leaned back and yanked at the back of his collar, tossing it in the backseat without looking as you flicked open his belt buckle and jeans. You grabbed either side of the open belt and tugged, making Sam’s chest press against yours and giggling into his lips at his tiny “oof,” when he fell forward onto the seat, throwing his arm out to avoid landing on you with his full weight.
With his torso against yours, he kissed you like he was gorging himself on candy; hungry and playful as you pushed and pulled against each other until you guided his cock out of his boxers and circled the tip with your thumb. Sam whimpered softly, just once and softly enough you might’ve thought it was a sharp inhale, but the broken concentration was enough for you to catch him off guard and shove him back on the seat across from you. He stretched back against the leather and door, pleasantly surprised behind widened pupils as you quickly got out of your shirt/bra tangle and kicked off your boots. It could’ve been some kind of pseudo-pornographic ad, Sam with tousled hair and undone jeans up against the door of the Impala, taut skin and muscles of his abs on full display as his arms spanned an impossible amount of the windowsill and seatback. If you’d had the self-restraint, you might’ve taken an extra second to soak it in, but as it was you pounced on him the moment the fabric of your clothes left your hands, slipping your fingers under his waistband enough to expose his cock and immediately sliding it into your mouth, hands still working to get him further out of his jeans.
Anyone else making the sound he did would never have had the same effect, but the gravelly moan your tongue forced out of him dissolved you into jello and you wanted nothing more than to hear it again. Rhythmically working the spit-slick between your mouth and hands, you dragged your head up to look Sam in the eyes, heavy tip of him weighing down your bottom lip as you spoke. “Hold my hair?”
Sam’s eyes went fuzzy and dark as his eyebrows raised into a dazed smile, gathering your hair in a huge palm and making that amazing noise again as you slid all the way down him, nose grazing the dark hair on Sam’s abdomen. After a few minutes his hips bucked a little under you, Sam beginning to writhe on the leather. “Fuck, that feels so goo—hold on, wait,” Sam stammered with sex-frayed vocal cords, using your hair to tug you to his mouth and suck your tongue. The sensation stunned you for a moment but you could’ve stayed there forever, held up in his palm and flayed open for Sam to take.
He trailed down your jaw and pulled firm when you tried to turn into his kiss. “Out of your jeans. Now.” You could feel the smirk against you and immediately started shimmying them off, loving this new edge to Sam, able to fully appreciate the grit knowing how soft he would be if you showed even the slightest hesitation. When you’d gotten the denim about halfway down your thighs he put a strong hand on your hip and flipped you over in the seat, your cheek flush against the glass of the window where he draped over your back like a predator. “Don’t. Move.”
The shudder was involuntary but it was covered by Sam practically ripping the jeans the rest of the way off your legs and subsequent hoisting your hips into the air as he shifted your knees up to the leather, your chest pressed against the door of the Impala as you looked back at him. You didn’t have any warning when Sam slipped his tongue inside you, shooting your arm out to grab for anything to stabilize yourself and ending up with a handful of seatbelt. Your calf curled up as he worked those sensitive nerves, swirling a thumb into your clit as he went. Sam locked the freed ankle with an iron grip. “I said don’t move.”
You whimpered and whispered dirty nothings you wouldn’t have been able to remember with a gun to your head until he smacked your ass hard enough you knew there’d be a red facsimile of his hand on you, and then you completely fell apart, shuddering and melting into the door. Sam crawled up behind you, chest flush to your back, and bit your earlobe. “I. Said. Don’t. Move.” You could hear the playful challenge in it and that made you even more crazy for him, wiggling under his weight a little involuntarily. He didn’t make you wait too long, pushing into you until his thighs pressed to yours, holding you in place so you couldn’t squirm forward.
“Holy shit, Sam,” you breathed. You could feel your muscles flex and relax experimentally around him.
His tongue flicked around your ear as he pounded into you. “You’re so fucking hot, baby—can’t believe you’re my girl. Are you my girl?”
The sounds you made were vaguely affirmative but to be honest, Sam’s rocking into you was pretty effectively scrubbing your mind clean of coherent thought.
“Tell me. Say my name,” Sam murmured, voice low with sin against your spine.
“I’m your girl, Sam—your girl, I’m your girl Sam, I—holy shit—” you moaned as he picked up the pace and circled a sucked-wet finger around your clit and then you hit that sweet, sticky spasm, hand splaying out wide on the window. Sam covered it with his, interlacing long fingers into yours and something about the way the metal of the two new rings clinked against each other was so tender even as you were being rammed into the door. A couple moments later he drew back with a tense groan, dressing your lower back with hot spurts of himself while his breath started to return with ragged shudders.
“Jesus,” he sighed as he eased off of you, suddenly gentle again. “Oh—uh, here, sorry.” Sam extended a veined arm over the front seat to snatch his shirt from where it had landed and gently wiped off your back. You let the cool glass settle your racing heartbeat for a beat before sliding back to the seat and the small pile of clothes Sam had retrieved for you. It made you smirk a little to watch Sam’s internal struggle over what to do with the dirty shirt, deciding to toss it on the floor before refastening his belt shirtless like he was in some Country Hotties calendar—Mr. July indeed.
You opted not to tie your boots as you’d only be walking from the car to the door and looked over at Sam once your feet were inside the loose laces. He opened and closed his mouth but couldn’t come up with any words, smoothing his hair nervously back into place and chuckling against a bitten lip.
“Yeah, I agree,” you giggled, leaning over to kiss his cheek before lacing your fingers together. “Do you want anything specific for dinner? We have a bunch of chickpeas, I thought maybe we could try making our own falafel.”
He gazed back at you for a reverent second before turning the key in the Impala’s ignition. “I love you,” he smiled, throwing an arm over the back of your seat to reverse out of the woods.
Tracing the angles of his face in the sunlight as he drove, you picked your joined hands up to kiss his knuckles. “I love you too.”
After a few minutes of endorphin-filled silence, Sam turned to you. “So do you know what this surprise is Dean has planned for tomorrow night? I figured he’d have to tell you what it was going to be if you’re the one whose head it’ll be in.”
“No clue. I thought at first maybe it was like, the Grand Canyon or something but ran into the same issue. Unless Cas’s taught him some new trick, he’s only ever been able to pull up places or things I already know—pick my brain for it, or whatever.”
           “Yeah, me too.”
The air in the car held the content pensiveness for a few minutes of sunny road. There was no real heat behind it, just like there was no real heat in choosing between different rattan baskets of produce at the farmer’s market, and that same appreciation of the serenity itself washed over you. A surprise was just a surprise, not a potential threat, a date with Dean was just a date with Dean, no longer a finite, losable resource that had to be clawed at and fought for. You didn’t miss the heat. There was more than enough warmth in the sun streaming through the windows and Sam’s palm in yours.
As it did frequently, Dean’s face in your driveway flashed in your mind, the memory somehow simultaneously old-picture washed out yet vibrant—could dreams even be memories? aren’t all memories dreams, in a way?—collar of his jacket flicked up against the cold as he said “you have to get good with this,” the flit of tongue you could see as he shaped ‘th’ enough to shape a painting class around, send a dozen art students into psychosis for inability to capture it. It had been so hard to figure out how the fuck he expected you to, how cruel it felt for him to ask it, and the only way you’d gotten your head around it was that same Dean Winchester Denial & Self Sacrifice Special and accepted it at face value. When he’d died you hadn’t felt like so many movies and books about tragic loss, where the strong but sensitive woman you’re supposed to relate to spent a few months in poetic sadness growing waifish and crying picturesque tears in solitude until she realized she could carry on.
           You couldn’t carry on.
You couldn’t carry anything—were dragging yourself along in the most generous of descriptions, some half-dead, half-smashed zombie version of yourself clinging to any will to live like a barnacle out of devotion and need for Sam. Getting Dean back felt like life raft thrown into the water. You really had wanted to spend the rest of your life asleep and were more than content to ingest as much dream root as it would take to decompose into the cabin’s mattress next to Sam, let your landlord find your skeletonized bodies after a few months of unpaid rent. Fuck him, kind as he’d been to two strangers who’d needed help, and fuck hunters’ funerals for you and Sam if it meant you didn’t have to keep drowning.  Fuck Dean’s wishes especially, let him bend to someone else’s will for once.
At first, maybe the first month after the dream root, only logistical reasons kept you from following through. What you wanted—needed, would’ve ruined the world for—was Sam and Dean together, and you couldn’t find a way to get Sam to agree no matter how obliquely or obviously you asked. He was unbelievably patient with you during this period of near-psychosis, and you suspected that a lot of the new habits he constructed, maybe including your beloved farmer’s market, were designed to keep you away from the greenhouse for as many hours a day as possible. You knew what he was doing, but the bright glare of panic in his eyes whenever you ‘joked’ about growing bigger patches of those little white flowers slowed down your singular focus enough to humor him, telling yourself it was just stalling until you could make your move.
But damn if it hadn’t worked. Not that it stopped that tick-tick-tick in your brain counting down to Dean, but it made the days bearable. Just bearable, at first, the newness of your surroundings and the newness of Sam, all the things you hadn’t known about him after years of sitting inches away from each other in the Impala. And then it stopped being so much about fuck you Dean fuck getting good with you being gone and a little more about getting good with the way Sam’s hair dried if he went to bed right after showering, floppy, glossy loops and easy curls at the base of his neck; getting good with racing him down the rickety pier on the cabin’s shoreline, knowing he was letting you win and squealing all the way down anyway, jumping into the lake at dusk on Memorial Day with all your clothes on together as Sam cannonballed in behind you. Getting good with Sam’s arms around you as you both shuddered in the water, shrieking with laughter and a smile on his face of genuine, unbridled joy. Getting good with waiting for every other Sunday, because sometimes waiting was Sam bringing you a root beer float in your favorite mug while you read, and sometimes it was feeling him fall asleep against you while you scratched his back.
Then getting good with the way it became less taboo to talk about him, being able to casually repeat old jokes of Dean’s without feeling like you were being stabbed in the chest or being terrified of sending Sam into a spiral. Getting good with memories of your old life together, your old friends, truly able to appreciate them. Because Dean was right, you had been ‘upset because you wanted something that didn’t exist.’ You could stay upset about it, stay so fucking mad about the unfairness of it all, that after all Dean had done—for you, for the world—that he was fucking gone, didn’t get to live in a cabin or have a couple daughters to braid Uncle Sammy’s hair—God, Dean saying that had haunted you maybe more than anything—and let it necrotize you from the inside out. Or you could let the ways he had permeated your very being serve as more commemoration than most people ever dream of, appreciate that the Impala still felt like an extension of him, see glimmers of the way he and Sam were still connected every day.
And, of course, visit him at night to take the edge off, love him and kiss him and scream until you laughed. Annoying as it was to admit it, all that getting good slowly let you see what he’d been trying to open your eyes to in that driveway. You had so much more than anyone in the world. How stupid, how greedy, to have all of that and cut yourself off from anything else because it wasn’t exactly the way you wanted it to be. Looking back at it felt like watching a home video of yourself as a kid throwing a tantrum, but for ages, and you almost couldn’t believe Sam had stuck right by your side through it all, guided you gently and patiently even through his own battle. Sweet, beautiful, loyal Sam.
As if on cue, he looked over at you. The sun poured through the windshield and shone off his hair like a halo, sparkled like glitter in his eyes. Someone who’d had a normal life would’ve said he looked angelic. But you had so much more than that, got to see both that golden hour was giving you a bit of a heavy-handed metaphor and that Sam was not only more than angelic, he was the whole world. He was the life raft all along, Dean’s Herculean return to you the lighthouse that let you see what had been there from the start, what had never left. His fingers tightened around yours a fraction. “Thanks for coming with me today.”
The smile splitting your face felt like the first delicious stretch after sleeping in on a rainy morning. “Wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without you.”
